Well equipped
This former wine maker's family house, which covers 250 square meters inside, is simply laid out, and tastefully designed. Upstairs there are five double bedrooms sleeping 12 comfortably. The master bedroom has a marble fireplace, ensuite bathroom, with its own shower, and a walk in cupboard. Four further double rooms include one room with twin beds, two bedrooms with double beds in them; and also a large family bedroom which has a cot, a double bed and a bunk bed in it. In addition to the ensuite bathroom, there are two large family bathrooms upstairs with baths, loos and showers in them. There is an additional loo downstairs.
All the bedrooms have traditional shutters on the windows. The rooms look out on to the sunny private courtyard which has a small fountain, original well (which we have temporarily covered up for safety reasons) and a barbecue. The main living room doors open out on to the courtyard which is ideal for outside eating. There is also an outside loo for extra convenience. Downstairs there is a sitting room with an open marble fire place. Opposite it there is a study which also has an open fire and is equipped with landline and wireless Internet connection plus plenty of books and maps on the local area. The huge family kitchen has furniture handmade by the local carpenter including a Caunes marble (the red pink marble of Versailles Palace which is found in the hills above Trausse) work surface around the kitchen sink, family size gas/electric cooker, dishwasher and large fridge freezer. The house can comfortably seat twelve around the kitchen table.
A cosy snug is within view of the kitchen where there are toys, books, games, PS2, and a TV/DVD plus lots of films to choose from. There is plenty of storage space. Set off from the kitchen is a pantry with shelving for the crockery; and there is a separate utility room containing a washing machine and tumble drier.
